In His Hands

So... I haven't updated this blog in a very long time. I recently returned from Haiti and I am working on some new songs and poems at present, but I wanted to post this "old" song that I wrote in 2005, when I returned from an outreach trip in Vancouver, B.C. Below are the lyrics and please enjoy the rough recording of me singing and playing piano, with my dad using the ebow on his guitar in the background :)

"In His Hands" - Bethany S. Moore (written 2005)

Looking out over the sea to the horizon.

Never wanting to leave this wondrous place.
Cause when I look out and see the glorious ocean,
I feel that I’m looking at Your face.

You always said you’d be there for me
No matter what may come my way.
But sometimes the hurt is all I can see;
Sometimes the pain seems here to stay
Yet, (go to chorus)

You are sovereign
Through all life’s trials
You are sovereign, Lord
And though it seems that all is against me
I must remember that all is
In Your hands.

You never said that the way would be easy—
In fact you said it would be wracked with pain.
Yet when all my best intentions are foiled,
I feel that my walk has been in vain.

And then I look to the cross:
I see the man who died for me,
I see that he’s taken all my dross—
This act was foretold through all history.
I see that-- (go to chorus)

So let us walk with confidence
Down this stormy road.
Though everything seems lost
We are here by grace,
And in grace we will stay.
