"Ginger Hair" - written and performed by Bethany S. Moore
Oh, my-my-my!
It’s that ginger hair and those blue eyes;
Oh, my-oh, my!
It’s the thought of you that gets me by.
Saw a picture upon my wall,
a moment captured, now long gone.
Saw the gladdened faces beneath the glass,
full of hope for years to come.
Didn’t see the thing that ate away the smile,
the smile upon her face;
Didn’t see the tears that ran down,
ran down my face.
Oh, a moment captured forever in the freeze-frame
Oh, a moment gone forever in the freeze-frame.
And as we walked you held my hand;
And as you held my hand I walked.
And as you fell you held my hand
But when your hand was gone I fell
down, down, down.
Saw an image form inside my brain,
a figure still and cold.
Couldn’t see the eyes beneath the lids,
the young face had grown old.
And the light that set her free
has carried her away, away from me.
And the tears that ran down my face were warm…
Oh, a moment that lingers always in my mind.
Oh, your face is always in my mind.
Oh, my-my-my!
It’s that ginger hair and those blue eyes;
Oh, my-oh, my!
It’s the thought of you that gets me by.
And as we walked you held my hand;
And when you held my hand I walked.
And as you fell you reached for me;
But when my hand was gone you fell
down, down, down.
Oh my goodness, that was beautiful Bethany! <3
